Return to Potsdamer Platz
Alice and John survived the war in England. However, Alice's longing for her old home never faded. In 1945, they receive an offer to return to Berlin and assist a special American unit, the so-called "Monuments Men," in their search for stolen artworks. They accept. Upon arrival, Alice is painfully reminded of the destruction caused by the war—not just to buildings and streets, but also to trust, dignity, and humanity. Yet, her family is still alive, and that's all that matters to Alice. Until she learns the high price her family was willing to pay to survive.
